Annabel Hill Loureiro graduated from Central Saint Martins with a 1st class BA (hons) in illustration. After having a family, the artist returned to drawing and painting. Her work is very much influenced by her love of drawing; however, she feels mainly at ease working from figures and faces, this is no doubt influenced by her time in film and theatre. Recently Annabel has created pieces using hand painted Japanese rice paper as collage material, it allows her to use block colour and occasionally a minimal ink line to really simplified the form of the figure. The work is produced from her life drawings with the aim to break away from a literal and traditional representation of the figure or portrait.
