To celebrate our three years on Chiswick High Road - years dedicated to bringing original, talented international artists to our community - The Hyde Gallery is proud to host the Chiswick Art Show. This special event honours the creative spirit of the area and shines a spotlight on the exceptional local artists who contribute to its vibrant cultural life.

Chiswick has long been a place of artistic inspiration. Vincent van Gogh famously created a drawing of Turnham Green Church, just a two-minute walk from the gallery. Over the years, the area has attracted and nurtured remarkable creative figures, including:

  • William Hogarth, the influential 18th-century painter and satirist who lived and worked at Hogarth’s House

  • Emery Walker, Arts & Crafts master printer, designer, and close collaborator of William Morris

  • William Morris, visionary designer, writer, and central figure of the Arts & Crafts movement, who lived and worked in Chiswick

  • James McNeill Whistler, the celebrated painter who once lived nearby

  • J. M. W. Turner, who sketched and painted scenes along the Thames around Chiswick and Brentford

  • Mary Fedden, renowned British modernist painter connected to West London’s creative circles

The Chiswick Art Show continues this legacy - an opportunity to celebrate the talent rooted in our neighbourhood while connecting it with the expressive global voices represented by the gallery.

This exhibition brings together artists across painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, and mixed media, creating a dynamic space for discovery, conversation, and community. Whether you're a seasoned collector or new to exploring art, the show offers an inspiring experience that reflects the rich creative heritage of Chiswick.

Join us as we honour our local artists, our international exhibitors, and the unique artistic history that makes Chiswick a place where creativity thrives.
