Lina Rut Wilberg, an Icelandic visual artist, was born in 1966 in Ísafjörður, a small town renowned for its dramatic scenery in northwest Iceland. She studied at the Icelandic Academy of Fine Arts and later expanded her practice to include sculpture and 3D artworks, studying at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. Lina Rut is also a children’s book author.

 

After graduating, she initially focused on painting before transitioning into sculpture and 3D brand artworks. Inspired by her blind son, Már Gunnarsson, she founded her brand, Kríli, creating tactile sculptures designed for touch and exploration.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these sculptures supports the Icelandic Association of the Blind (Blindrafélagið)

"Blind Kríli" is a series of unique, handcrafted sculptures. Each piece is individually made in limited quantities, offering distinctive design solutions.

 

Lina Rut has exhibited her work extensively throughout Europe, including solo shows in Reykjavík, Norway, Luxembourg, and London, as well as joint exhibitions in Denmark, Amsterdam, and Reykjavík.
